The programme provides you with the opportunity to acquire a greater understanding of practical and theoretical biomedical science at a leading university in this field. The course provides the knowledge and skills required for subsequent progression to PhD study, a career in biomedical/ pharmaceutical research (industry or university based) or hospital-based employment. Our scheme provides focus on, and training within, several �hot� topics in biomedicine, while still retaining elements of flexibility and choice.

Entry requirements

At least an upper 2nd Class Honours degree, or its equivalent, in an appropriate subject. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in each individual component (or equivalent).

Course modules

Compulsory modules: Supervised research project (6 months). Option modules may include: Research techniques; models of disease; diseases of the brain; drug discovery and development; immunology; microbes and disease; molecular basis of cancer; biomedicine in context.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on a combination of coursework, presentations, examinations and dissertation
