This programme provides a rigorous training in theory and methods and helps you develop marketable skills to launch yourself on to the job market. It opens up career opportunities in consulting companies, research centres, government departments, international agencies, or in the financial sector.

Entry requirements

A degree in economics or in a related subject with at least 50 per cent of modules in economics. Applicants whose 1st language is not English Require IELTS 7.0, with no element less than 6.0.

Course modules

Core modules: Microeconomics; macroeconomics; econometrics; dissertation; research skills for economists. Optional modules: Industrial organisation; financial economics; public economics and political economy; labour economics; international banking and risk management; behavioural finance.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include examination and coursework, plus a dissertation.
