Politics, Philosophy and Management

This programme, taught jointly by the Department of Organisation, Work and Technology and the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion, is unique in Europe in bringing together the important areas of politics and management with an interdisciplinary lens. It enables students to develop a sophisticated understanding of social, political, organisational and managerial processes and of the connections between them. It provides a foundation for careers in all kinds of cross-national organisations, from multinational companies to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) or international bodies such as the European Union or United Nations.

Entry requirements

An upper 2nd Class Honours degree, or equivalent, in any arts or social science discipline, including business and management. Students whose 1st language is not English must provide evidence of proficiency in the English language: IELTS score of 7.0 or equivalent (minimum element scores apply).

Course modules

Modules: Politics and policy; the production of managerial knowledge; theory and method in postgraduate studies. You can choose 1 of 4 pathways through the programme: International relations and management; philosophy and management; politics and management; politics, philosophy and management.

Assessment methods

Assessment is based on coursework assignments, group projects, formal examinations and dissertation.
