Leeds Beckett University
Town and Regional Planning
This course will help students become spatial planning experts; they will be able to advise clients on the use of land, and understand local authority controls relating to many aspects of policy such as transportation, communities, the environment and quality of the built environment. Students will learn the rationale behind spatial planning and encourage them to be reflective practitioners, based on self awareness and the development of an ethical standpoint in planning practice.
Applicants should either have at least a 2nd Class Honours degree that gives eligibility for membership of the RIBA, RICS, Landscape Institute or similar bodies or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. Experience in this instance would be assessed by the course team and supported by a reflective essay.
