Music for the Moving Image
Writing music for the moving image requires a unique combination of technical and creative skills. This course gives students a critical appreciation of the theory together with a solid grounding in the techniques and practices essential for contemporary film and television music production. During the course students get the opportunity to work with award-winning composers from the film and television industry on real-life projects. After developing composition skills in a range of genres students also have the opportunity to work with colleagues from other media courses to help develop their portfolio of work.
Applicants should either have at least a 2nd Class Honours degree in the cognate subjects of music production or audio technology, at least a 2nd Class Honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.
