Digital Forensics and Security

This is a chance to develop highly valued computer forensic and computer security skills. Students are be presented with problems, using real life scenarios where possible, allowing them to improve their expertise in preparation for a career in either of these important fields.

Entry requirements

Applicants should either have at least a 2nd Class Honours degree in the cognate subject of computing, at least a 2nd Class Honours degree in a non-cognate subject supported by evidence of an aptitude for the subject applied for, or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment.

Course modules

Digital evidence analysis (20 credits); offensive security and penetration testing (20 credits); principles of digital security (20 credits); research practice (20 credits); forensic analysis of alternative devices (20 credits); dissertation (40 credits); securing evidence (20 credits).
