This will engage with the latest in social media, search engine optimisation (SEO), crowd sourcing and user-generated content, while also focusing on the more traditional areas of newspapers, television, radio and online news. This is a unique qualification - we are the only journalism course in England to be taught from within a business school. You will benefit from our contacts within the city of Leeds, providing you with an opportunity to meet, research and report on companies, industry and new developments. Previous students have enjoyed work experience with BBC Newsnight, Reuters and The Independent. You will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a dedicated newsroom and television and radio studios.

Entry requirements

A 2:2 honours degree in a related subject or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. IELTS: 6.5 with no skill below 6.5 (or equivalent).

Course modules

Modules include: Editing and production; feature writing; international perspectives on media law; ethics and regulation; journalism theory; reporting; dissertation. Option modules: negotiated skills; development; online journalism; public relations skills; digital; audio and video.
