Early Years (leading to Early Years Teacher Status)
Learn how to provide expert care and education for children from birth to the age of 5. The course helps students to examine the issues that affect young children and work with their parents, carers and communities to support their development. Students explore their own professional practice, enhancing their understanding of the values and beliefs that underpin policy and pedagogy in the early years setting.
Applicants should either have at least a 2nd Class Honours degree or have equivalent experience or training, normally from within the work environment. All applications should be supported by a reference, either academic or professional; a template can be accessed at this link. IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5, or an equivalent qualification. The University provides excellent support for any applicant who may be required to undertake additional English language courses.
