Secondary Education (Mathematics)

Your training will prepare you to teach your chosen subject specialism to 11 to 16 year olds, with opportunities to also understand and experience teaching and the curriculum in the 16 to 19 and the 9 to 11 age ranges. We will help you to gain extensive experience that will prepare you to teach in UK schools, providing training in behaviour management, inclusion, planning, teaching and assessment.

Entry requirements

An upper 2nd Class Honours degree in a cognate subject which should contain at least 50% content related to mathematics. Applicants with a degree in a related discipline (for example engineering) and strong A Level grades or work experience in mathematics are encouraged to apply and may be offered a place subject to completing an approved Subject Knowledge Enhancement Programme prior to the commencement of the course. Applicants with a lower 2nd Class Honours degree (2.2) will be considered if they have relevant work experience.
