Students learn to interpret nutritional science and its application in health and illness together with biochemistry, physiology, food science and social science perspectives to develop an evidence based and critical approach to dietetic practice and the effective management of therapeutic conditions.

Entry requirements

2.1 Bachelor of Science Honours degree in an appropriate science subject, containing a substantial amount of human physiology and biochemistry to a minimum of level 2; complete a health screening questionnaire; provide evidence of a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Disbarment check prior to acceptance on the course; all candidates must have a good command of written and spoken English to satisfy the Health Professions Council guidelines; visited a dietetic department to observe the work of a dietitian.

Applied nutrition for support; enterprise in public health nutrition; lifestyle and long term conditions; nutrition advances in practice; professional development for practice; reflection and consolidation.
