Environmental Health

Students gain the required skills to prepare them for a career as an environmental health practitioner by fully analysing the 5 main intervention areas, consisting of housing, food safety, occupational health and safety, environmental protection and public health. This involves understanding the environmental stress factors and their effect on human health and safety, together with the legal and technical frameworks for controlling these risks.

Entry requirements

At least a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in a pure or applied science (or combination) of a UK university or an overseas equivalent; or exceptionally, certificated learning or qualifications and/or experiential learning considered to be equivalent to the above; all students applying via this route will be interviewed by a member of the course team to confirm that they can demonstrate the potential to achieve the aims and outcomes of the curriculum, and that such aims and outcomes are consistent with the applicant's aspirations; all interviewees will be required to submit a portfolio of experiential learning evidence; international students should have attained IELTS 6.5 (with no component less than 6.0), or suitable equivalent.
