Psychology (conversion award)

If students have little or no experience of psychology, the course provides the knowledge, skills and experience to qualify for the British Psychological Society (BPS) Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC). Students develop the research skills necessary for designing and conducting quality research beyond that expected of graduates. Students gain a comprehensive and critical understanding of cognitive, social, developmental and biological psychology, individual differences and conceptual and historical issues.

Entry requirements

Applicants must demonstrate the following minimum prior certificated learning, a 2.1 degree and a competent level of English language proficiency; GCSE maths grade C or equivalent; GCSE English language grade C or equivalent; GCSE science grade C or equivalent; individual applications will be considered for merit, relevant academic skills and experience; applications from all subject area backgrounds will be considered, although it is important that applicants show an awareness and appreciation of the British Psychological Society (BPS) structure and content of a psychology programme, and of the specific aims of this conversion course; applicants will need to demonstrate an awareness and motivation to learn about and engage with different approaches to the study of psychology.
