This course enables students to engage with a wide range of educational issues and is designed to support improvements in teaching and learning through critical reflective practice and practical enquiry. The course brings together education professionals from a wide variety of contexts: early years, primary education, secondary education, special education, further and higher education.

Entry requirements

An Honours degree. In order to be able to fulfil the requirements of the module assignments, students need to be working in a teaching or teaching related/support position/leadership position.

Course modules

Core modules: curriculum development; e-learning; coaching and mentoring; behaviour management; subject leadership; education leadership; special education needs; reflective practice; learning, teaching and assessment; developing professional practice; and catholic education and leadership.

Assessment methods

Assessment is through graded coursework assignments. There are no examinations.
