Sport Management

This course aims to provide the opportunity for graduates and practitioners in sport and sport management related professions to engage in critical and intellectually rigorous investigation of the process of sport management from strategic planning through to practical implementation, in order to contribute to personal and career development.

Entry requirements

A good (2.2 or above) BA or BSc degree in a relevant area. People with degrees in non-related subjects will also be considered, if they can demonstrate relevant paid or voluntary work experience and a commitment to study. Additionally candidates without a BA/BSc may be considered where they can demonstrate evidence of equivalent prior learning and experience through Leeds Trinity assessment of APL.

Course modules

Modules include: strategic sports management; human resources management; sports development; financial management and accounting; event management (international); applied professional practice; dissertation.

Assessment methods

Assessment methods include formal written essays, case study reports, physical activity interventions, research proposal, research critique, cost-benefit evaluations, reflective portfolio, on-line seminars and a major research project (dissertation).
