Human Resource Management and Development
The course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles and techniques of managing and developing human resources in organisations. This programme enables students to develop competence, techniques and effectiveness in the field.
Normally a 1st Class or upper 2nd Class Honours degree in management, development studies, education, business, public administration or marketing or social science. Applications from students who do not hold a 1st or 2.1 Honours degree (or equivalent) will be asked to demonstrate potential to achieve a Master's award via a sample of academic writing and interview before an offer is made. Students whose 1st language is not English there is a language requirement of IELTS 6.5 overall (reading 6, writing 6), TOEFL ibt 87, or other equivalent recognised English language qualification.
Modules: human resource management; organisational behaviour and leadership; management strategy; enterprise and entrepreneurship; global economic development; human resource development; international organisation; research methods; dissertation. Plus 1 of the following elective modules: managerial finance; global business ethics; knowledge management and development; operations management; research dissertation.
