The course provides opportunities to explore pure and applied mathematics at advanced level and university level; when tackling new mathematics, students are challenged to not just ask themselves 'what?' or 'how?', but also 'why?' - 2 short school placements help students further develop this deep understanding; students are also introduced to a range of information communication technology software packages which have revolutionised the teaching of mathematics; applications must be made direct to the provider.
First degree and A-level in mathematics (or equivalent); applicants must also be in receipt of an offer of a place on a teacher training course conditional upon the successful completion on the mathematics enchantment course; specifically, applicants must have met all other criteria for entry to initial teacher training.
