Human Resource Management

There is an emphasis on the need for human resource professionals to continually develop throughout their career, taking responsibility for what they learn. In addition, you will develop the ability to apply what you learn to different organisational contexts, and to critically evaluate alternative approaches which will add value to a range of business sectors. The programme covers the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Advanced (Level 7) Standards. It will also provide you with the knowledge requirements to apply for Chartered Membership of CIPD: the recognised level of membership for HR and Development professionals.

Entry requirements

In order to be considered for this course you should have: an honours degree in any subject area 2.2 or above. Experience in the field of HR, Training, Development or related area OR aspiring to a career in these areas. Industry experience recommended but not essential. Additional qualifications considered-Level 5 CIPD Intermediate standards. International applicants are required to demonstrate equivalent qualifications and must also demonstrate a proficiency in communicating through English, via an IELTS test with a score of 6.0 ( 5.5 in each component) or equivalent.

Course modules

Modules: resourcing and talent management; managing performance; managing employment relations; hrm in context; managing development; leadership management and development strategy; research methods for human resources professionals; business leadership skills and strategies.
