This new integrated Master's programme focuses on how stakeholders can be persuaded to change their perceptions of a product or issue through public relations and effective event management. Graduates will gain the skills and knowledge needed to work in the public relations and/or event management sectors, embracing corporate communications, internal communications, and the emerging discipline of online public relations which incorporates search engine optimisation and social media strategy development. The programme will be delivered by an expert team of academics who have a broad range of practical and teaching experience in this field and are members of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA). You will study a mix of core and options covering the following topics: Public relations tactics and strategy; public relations-oriented event organisation; digital events and the use of social media; monitoring and evaluation methods; project management; digital communication management; global media management. during the validation period, the programme team will be seeking professional accreditation from PRCA and CIPR so that the programme's learning outcomes are closely matched to those of the industry's key professional bodies.
