The research training delivered by this programme is ideal for both new researchers and those already conducting work exploring the key concepts and theories underpinning contemporary social science research. It provides opportunities for intellectual advancement and career enhancement, and combines theoretical engagement with the development of relevant transferable research skills. The course explores a wide range of contemporary methodological frameworks and methods of data collection and analysis. You will have a range of opportunities to engage in the process of �doing� research during your studies.
You will need an Honours degree (minimum 2.2) in a relevant subject area (e.g. education, sociology, psychology, health).
Core modules: introduction to qualitative approaches; researching pictures and text; introduction to quantitative approaches; critical perspectives on research philosophies; developing and applying quantitative approaches; exploring post-modern/post-structural approaches.
