International Public Health

The programme will provide you with key public health knowledge and skills, enhancing your capacity to improve health and reduce health inequalities in the populations you serve. You will be supported to develop critical, analytical, research, collaborative working and evaluation skills - all key requirements in the dynamic public health sector. During the course you will work, study and share core modules with full time, part time, international and home students.

Entry requirements

You will need a good Honours degree in a health or social science-related discipline. Equivalent professional qualifications and experience will also be considered. International applicants require equivalent qualifications an IELTs score of 6.5 or above, or an equivalent English Language qualification.

Course modules

Core modules: Public health (policy and practice); epidemiology; research methods; global health; dissertation; international health (an introduction). Optional modules: Independent study; health improvement; health protection; violence; applied qualitative research methods in health statistics; alcohol and tobacco control; understanding addictions; addictions (policy and interventions); public health intelligence.
