Advanced Educational Practice (Dyslexia)

You will develop a critical understanding of causal theories, the principles of identification and assessment, the basis of dyslexia-friendly practice and specialist multi-sensory intervention programmes. All modules are delivered via a combination of taught sessions and complementary online learning. The teaching is mostly delivered in early evening 'twilight' sessions and on some Saturdays, enabling teaching practitioners to fit their studies around full time employment.

Entry requirements

You will need a first degree (minimum 2.2) or a Certificate in Education (gained prior to graduate entry into teaching); a Certificate in Education (post 16), with appropriate professional experience. If your first language is not English, you will also need an IELTS score of 6.5 (minimum of Level 6 in reading and writing).

Course modules

Modules include: teaching learners with dyslexia; developing professional practice; the analysis and design of multisensory programmes; assessment of complexity in dyslexia.
