This programme delivers advanced professional development for educational professionals working in the field of special educational needs. Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (2.2 or above) from a UK university (or equivalent overseas qualification) or equivalent professional qualification. A level of English language competence to at least to English 'O' level standard or equivalent (either international English language testing system (IELTS) 6.5 or above or test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL) 580 or above. Non-UK applicants must provide evidence of competence in English. The level of English language required should be equivalent to 6.5 for IELTS within the previous 24 months. Applicants who have studied and successfully achieved a UK Degree within the previous 24 months are exempt from the requirements to produce evidence of competence in English.

Course modules

Assessment methods

Students will normally study towards a Master of arts award. Alternative awards of postgraduate diploma (PGDip) and postgraduate certificate (PGCert) are also available. Students would expect to complete the taught element of the course in 18-24 months (depending on options chosen and successful progression) and then spend another 6-9 months undertaking their dissertation.
