Smart Technologies for Infrastructure and Buildings

This course offers the opportunity for you to study the latest in smart technologies used in the built environment.

Entry requirements

Applicants will normally be expected to hold a 1st degree from an approved university of at least upper 2nd Class Honours level, in a cognate or semi-cognate subject. Alternatively, candidates may possess a 1st degree of at least lower 2nd Class Honours level combined with a relevant professional qualification or relevant professional experience of at least 2 years. Candidates without a 1st degree may qualify for entry to the programme on the basis of considerable relevant work experience normally comprising at least 5 years at managerial or equivalent level which would be assessed by the programme team. Overseas candidates would normally be expected to possess 1 of the above entry qualifications and a recognised English Language qualification equivalent to an IELTS score of 6.5. Applicants who have studied and successfully achieved a UK degree within 24 months of the start of the course are exempt from this requirement.

PgCert: Sustainable policy and legislation; building intelligence; toward sustainable energy generation; smart building services and maintenance. PGDip: Research techniques and communication; advanced modelling for construction and property; building and structure monitoring; building performance evaluation; MSc: Research project.
