Photography Portfolio Development
This intensive course gives students the skills needed to define themselves as photographers working at the cutting edge of contemporary photographic practice; our carefully structured programme focuses on practice-based pathways in photography practice, portfolio research and development; this challenging course explores both traditional image capture skills and the development of new hybrid technologies; it enables students to develop a range of intellectual, analytical and professional skills; during their studies, students have the opportunity to develop a high quality portfolio suitable for presentation when approaching clients for employment or commissions; students work on set and self-initiated projects which promote learning through discovery, interaction and response to change.
An Honours degree or equivalent experience is necessary to be considered for this course; we are looking for applicants who are progressing from an undergraduate course (or equivalent) and who already have a portfolio that demonstrates a high level of practice; alternatively students could be working as self-employed practitioners or considering entering the profession; in this case students have the intention of expanding their subject knowledge and understanding.
Phase 1: Photographic research; commercial applications; photographic futures. Phase 2: Project proposal (photography research methodology and application); major project (research in practice).
