Fashion Design Technology (Menswear)
Students investigate their own practice to define design methodologies that encompass key concepts of fabric, cut and silhouette. Based on rigorous research and analytical thinking, the course encourages fresh perspectives in menswear design.
An Honours degree (2.1 or above) in fashion or clothing design and / or production; or equivalent qualifications; or minimum 3 years' relevant and quantitative industrial experience; interview; portfolio including developmetal work where possible, and 2 menswear garments; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 and with a minimum of 5.5 in any 1 skill.
Term 1: Creative and technical innovation; research methods. Term 2: Collaborative unit; technical analysis and development. Term 3: Master's project.
Assessment is by a technological investigation into new methods with prototypes or a dissertation on a design-based subject.
