Fashion Design Technology (Womenswear)
The course enables students to produce high quality and innovative work through illustration, design, cutting and modern manufacturing; using diverse production techniques. from couture craftsmanship to futuristic experimentation, students are able to explore their own perspectives to form the basis of their MA collection; this also has the potential to incorporate a further specialism such as embroidery, knitwear or digital concepts.
An Honours degree (2.1 or above) in fashion or clothing design and / or production; or equivalent qualifications; or minimum 3 years' relevant and quantitative industrial experience; portfolio including developmental work where possible, and 2 womenswear garments; interview; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in any 1 skill.
Modules include: Studio methodologies in practice, creative and technical innovation; research methodologies; collaborative unit; context analysis and Master's project planning; Master's project.
Assessment is by a technological investigation into new methods with prototypes; or a dissertation on a design-based subject.
