Fashion Design Management
The course supports global perspectives, and students are encouraged to apply business and theoretical models to their own experience and future career ambitions. The majority of students will enter roles in industry in both large and medium-sized companies, or entrpereneurial start-ups. Others may wish to pursue careers in further postgraduate study.
Applicants require a 2.1 Honours degree or above in a related discipline (applicants with a degree in another subject may be considered depending on the strength of application); or equivalent qualifications; or minimum 3 years' relevant and quantitative industrial experience at appropriate level; applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 7.0 with 6.0 in any 1 paper or equivalent; interview and portfolio; interview involves an aptitude test.
Term 1: Design thinking; fashion branding; research methods. Term 2: Creative futures; managing fashion projects; collaborative unit. Term 3: Master's project.
Assessment methods include: a dissertation of 15000-18000 words on an original topic; or relevant design management practice-based project with 12000-word reflective report.
