Career Management

This course will help to improve students' understanding of the career decision making process, increase knowledge and understanding of careers and the labour market, and develop students career counselling and coaching skills.

Entry requirements

It would normally be expected that applicants are qualified to at least the equivalent of the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework level 4/5 (equivalent to 1st / 2nd year undergraduate).

Course modules

PgCert (1 core + 2 optional): Core module: Career theory in action. PgDip (2 core + 4 optional). Core modules: Career theory in action; Professional development and reflection. MSc (3 core + 3 optional and dissertation). Core modules: career theory in action; professional development and reflection; research in health and social care. Optional Modules from: introduction to career guidance practice; working in partnership and community or accessing the world of work: lmi and employability; working in partnership and education or leading and managing careers education; advanced guidance practice (must first complete introduction module); applying to higher education; research in health and social care.
