Mental Health Practice (Older People)
The course help promote the development of core skills and capabilities in mental health practice; it is a practice-based course, which help students apply new or enhanced skills and understanding to your particular practice areas, including both community and institutional settings; the course is informed by the requirements and expectations of the national service frameworks for mental health and for older people.
Professional qualifications in health care including Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Health Visiting, Psychiatry or Social Work. Practitioners are expected to be working in care setting where service users represent older people requiring mental health care.
Engagement and assessment in older peoples' care; mentoring and enabling learning in the practice setting (mental health and learning disabilities); best practice in dementia care; dissertation (60 credit module).
