The course has been specifically designed to give applicants the competence and confidence to lead and manage careers education programmes in schools and colleges.
It would normally be expected that applicants are qualified to at least the equivalent of the Qualifications and Curriculum Framework level 4/5 (equivalent to 1st / 2nd year undergraduate). Applications are also welcome from those without the required qualification who possess the life/work skills that would make them suitable to study at this level. Applicants will need regular access to clients and an educational establishment.
Modules include: Leading and managing careers education; career theory in action delivering careers education. options: introduction to career guidance practice; professional development and reflection; working in partnership � community or accessing the world of work: lmi and employability; applying to higher education; research in health and social care.
