Diplomacy, Business and Trade
This programme provides an extensive overview of the practice and development of international business and economic diplomacy. The challenges of trading in the global village, multiple communities and markets driving world commerce through new and old trade routes are dissected in this programme. You will learn in an environment tailor-made for the development of skills in globalisation and will be supported in acquiring a critical awareness of the current issues involved in the study of relations between diplomacy and international business and trade.
Minimum of a lower 2nd Class Honours degree from a UK university or equivalent overseas qualification recognised by Loughborough University.English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (reading, listening, writing and speaking) or equivalent.
Modules include: Individual project, dissertation, business plan or placement; diplomacy: policy, practice and procedures 1; diplomacy, policy, practice and procedures 2; emergency simulations; international business and trade; economic global governance; second subject module. Optional modules include: The politics and practice of the European Union; economic diplomacy; diplomatic discourse; cultural projection and perception; diplomacy and religion.
Modules are assessed by a combination of essays, group exercises, presentations and time constrained assignments. Subject to your choices, there may also be exams.
