Diplomacy, Communication and Information Management
This programme will provide you with specialised, systematic and in-depth knowledge of the study of and the relationship between diplomacy, communication and information management. This programme offers teaching and contact hours in the evenings and on Saturdays only. Advances in communication are expanding and contracting our world simultaneously. Whilst whole nations are welcomed to the world through advances in technology, at the same time governments face the growing challenge of how to manage and harness communication for the advancement of their citizens. This programme uses real life examples to illustrate the challenges and opportunities offered by global communication and information exchange.
Minimum of a lower 2nd Class Honours degree from a UK university or equivalent overseas qualification recognised by Loughborough University. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (reading, listening, writing and speaking) or equivalent.
Modules include: Individual project, dissertation, business plan or placement; diplomacy: policy, practice and proecdures 1; diplomacy: policy, practice and procedures 2; emergency simulations; cultural projection and perception; information management and governance; second subject module. Optional modules include: The politics and practice of the European Union; economic diplomacy; diplomatic discourse; diplomacy and religion.
Modules are assessed by a combination of essays, group exercises, presentations and time constrained assignments. Subject to your choices, there may also be exams.
