User Experience Design

This programme is designed to help students develop their critical awareness of major issues in interaction and user experience design. Areas studied include design research methods, enterprise business and sustainability, experience design, group project, service design for social innovation, design for behaviour change, and an user experience design major project.

Entry requirements

MA User Experience Design entry requirements are a 1st or 2.1 relevant Honours degree. Most applicants have a design background but we consider students from a range of disciplines relevant to User Experience Design (including psychology, computer science, business studies). For those not able to provide a portfolio it is important that their personal statement explains your interest in User Experience Design.

Course modules

Modules, semester 1: design research methods; enterprise business and sustainability ; experience design; usability principles and practices. Semester 2: group project; service design for social innovation ; major project; design for behaviour change.

Assessment methods

Assessed by coursework submissions, including: presentations, group work, reports and project specifications.
