This programme aims to develop understanding of the core aspects of business management and to build on the skills and competencies relevant to middle management and to senior roles. It is especially suitable for students who have taken non-business degrees or who wish to reinforce their business knowledge. Core study areas include accounting and financial management, human resource management, marketing in the organisation, operations management, information systems and management, global strategic management, management analysis, and skills for employability and personal development.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (2.2 or higher) or equivalent overseas qualification, typically in a non-business field though those with a business background will be considered. Degrees must be obtained from a university or institution recognised by Loughborough University.

Course modules

Semester 1, compulsory modules: accounting and financial management; human resource management; operations management; marketing in the organisation; skills for employability and personal development. Semester 2, compulsory modules: information systems and management; skills for employability and personal development. Optional modules (choose 3); brand management; business environment analysis; business forecasting; enterprise resource planning; international marketing; logistics and supply chain management; marketing communications; small business and entrepreneurship; work psychology; summer; management analysis; global strategic management.

Assessment methods

Modules are assessed by a combination of examinations and assignments.

The scholarship and bursary range is designed to include a wide range of students and consists of: Alumni scholarships (for UK/EU and international students); Outstanding academic achievement scholarships; Sports scholarships; Hardship bursaries and other funding options; International student specific scholarships, including: Loughborough University Graduate School Development Trust Africa; USA scholarships and loans; and Santander International postgraduate scholarships. Whilst some of scholarships are offered automatically based on the course application, some scholarships and bursaries do require a separate application and have limited availability and application deadlines.
