International Management

This programme is designed to provide students with the specialist knowledge and skills required for managing successfully in an international organisation and for working effectively across different national contexts. The programme aims to help students develop an in-depth understanding of cross-cultural challenges of international collaboration and leadership, and to analyse the critical success factors of firms operating in an international business environment.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (2.2 or higher) or equivalent overseas qualification, typically in a non-business field though those with a business background will be considered. Degrees must be obtained from a university or institution recognised by Loughborough University. English language requirement for international students: IELTS: overall 6.5 with minimum 6.0 in each component.
IELTS is waived for International students based in the UK who either:
achieve a 2.1 academic classification from a UK university or who have studied in UK for 2+ years and meet the academic entry requirements for the programme. The School will accept lower IELTS scores if you undertake the University's pre-sessional English course.

Course modules

Semester 1, compulsory modules: cross-cultural management; global outsourcing and offshoring of services; international business environment; marketing in the organisation; skills for employability and personal development. Semester 2, compulsory modules: business environment analysis; international management ; skills for employability and personal development. Optional modules (choose 2): enterprise resource planning; information systems and management ; logistics and supply chain management; work psychology; x-culture; other optional modules are available; summer; international management analysis; global strategic management.

Assessment methods

Modules are assessed by a combination of examinations and assignments.

The scholarship and bursary range is designed to include a wide range of students and consists of: Alumni scholarships (for UK/EU and international students); Outstanding academic achievement scholarships; Sports scholarships; Hardship bursaries and other funding options; International student specific scholarships, including: Loughborough University Graduate School Development Trust Africa; USA scholarships and loans; and Santander International postgraduate scholarships. Whilst some of scholarships are offered automatically based on the course application, some scholarships and bursaries do require a separate application and have limited availability and application deadlines.
