This programme offers an opportunity for graduates with an interest in marketing and management to develop a deep understanding of marketing theory and practice. During the year students discover the secrets behind effective strategic marketing management in a global marketplace, learn the techniques used in conducting and analysing market research, and explore the marketing mix in an international context. Students on the programme benefit directly from the teaching of leading researchers and academics. Overall, the programme's strategic aim is to impart marketing knowledge and analytical skills that will prepares students for any marketing management role within a multinational organisation. Core study areas include accounting and financial management, human resource management, innovation and entrepreneurship, marketing in the organisation, digital marketing and social media, making marketing work, business market review, strategic marketing solutions, and skills for employability and personal development.

Entry requirements

A good Honours degree (2.2 or higher) or equivalent overseas qualification, typically in a non-business field though those with a business background will be considered.

Course modules

Semester 1, compulsory modules: accounting and financial management (15 credits); human resource management (15 credits); innovation and entrepreneurship; marketing in the organisation; skills for employability and personal development (2 semester module); students with significant knowledge of a compulsory module may substitute it with another available module. Semester 2, compulsory modules: digital marketing and social media; making marketing work; skills for employability and personal development ( (2 semester module). Optional modules (choose 2): semester 2 affords the opportunity to explore 2 areas of interest. Options include: brand management; international marketing; logistics and supply chain management; marketing communications; services and retail management. Summer period: the summer semester from July to September further builds on the competencies learned during the course, instilling a vital understanding of marketing and business strategy: business market review; strategic marketing solutions.

Assessment methods

Modules are assessed by a combination of examinations and assignments.

The scholarship and bursary range is designed to include a wide range of students and consists of: Alumni scholarships (for UK/EU and international students); Outstanding academic achievement scholarships; Sports scholarships; Hardship bursaries and other funding options; International student specific scholarships, including: Loughborough University Graduate School Development Trust Africa; USA scholarships and loans; and Santander International postgraduate scholarships. Whilst some of scholarships are offered automatically based on the course application, some scholarships and bursaries do require a separate application and have limited availability and application deadlines.
