Internet Computing and Network Security

This programme aims to give students a broad, comprehensive and detailed knowledge about all aspects of computer networks. Focusing on all aspects of what is relevant to future network experts, the programme provides a view on network architecture, protocols, security, performance and programming as well as wireless networks.

Entry requirements

A minimum of a Lower 2nd Class degree (2.2) in Computer Science or an allied discipline which includes programming and networking.

Course modules

Taught modules; network modelling and performance; internet systems; internet protocol design; building secure networks; cryptography and secure systems; wireless networks; project preparation; research methods; individual project.

Assessment methods

Taught modules, with a total modular weight of 120 credits, assessed by coursework and in-class tests. Project: 60 credits.
