Sport, Exercise and Health Sciences
Research topics include: biomechanics: measurement techniques for movement analysis; computer simulation of sports movements; inverse dynamics; physiology: nutrition and fatigue; substrate metabolism during exercise; mechanisms of fatigue during maximal exercise; muscle metabolism during intermittent exercise; psychology: motivation; emotion and stress in sport and exercise; sociology: sport and globalisation; sport and violence; pain and injury; physical education: policy, teaching and teacher education; pedagogy, exercise and health; young people and sport; recreation management: leisure and policy in Europe; leisure, tourism and sustainability; leisure policy, work and social exclusion; strategic management of sport and leisure organisations.
Applicants are normally required to have at least a 2.1 degree at undergraduate level, or a Master's degree.
