Accounting and Finance
This programme has been designed to enhance the specialist knowledge and skills of graduates who have already undertaken substantial accounting and finance studies at undergraduate degree level. Alternatively, if students have successfully achieved all of the ACCA Fundamental level papers they are eligible to apply. The programme covers a number of core themes including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), corporate reporting, corporate governance and risk management. Professional ethics, alongside the application of tools and models of finance theory to complex strategic corporate finance transactions are central to the programme. In addition, students develop knowledge in implementing strategy in the context of both the external environment and internal business capabilities, and be able to evaluate performance implications of a given strategy.
You will normally have at least a 2.2 UK honours degree (or international equivalent) in an accounting and finance degree, or a degree with substantial accounting content. Exceptionally we will consider applicants with appropriate professional passes in a CCAB or equivalent approved professional accounting body and with substantial relevant work experience.
Core modules: international corporate reporting and governance; corporate finance and strategy; investigating business practice; research methods; dissertation.
Corporate Finance and Strategy: Students complete two 3,000 word assignments worth 50 per cent each.International Corporate Reporting and Governance: 3,000 word assignments worth 40 per cent.
