Management Accounting Professional Qualification

Students register for the full qualification; there are 3 levels: operational (E1, F1 and P1); management (E2, F2 and P2); strategic (E3, F3 and P3); plus the test of professional competence in management accounting (T4 parts A and B); students must pass all 6 operational and management papers before attempting strategic level; all 3 strategic papers must be passed before a student can attempt the T4 part B case study examination

Entry requirements

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants certificate in business accounting.

Operational level: Enterprise pillar (E1): The global business environment; information systems; operations management; marketing; managing human capital; performance pillar (P1): cost accounting systems; forecasting and budgeting techniques; project appraisal; dealing with uncertainty in analysis; managing short term finance; financial pillar (F1): principles of business taxation; regulation and ethics of financial reporting; financial accounting and reporting; management level: Enterprise pillar (E2): Strategic management and assessing the competitive environment; project management; management of relationships; performance pillar (P2): pricing and product decisions; cost planning and analysis for competitive advantage; budgeting and management control; control and performance measurement of responsibility centres; financial pillar (F2): group financial statements; issues in recognition and management; analysis of interpretation and financial accounts; developments in external reporting; strategic level: Enterprise pillar (E3): Interacting with the competitive environment; change management; evaluation of strategic options; implementation of strategic plans; performance pillar (P3): management control systems; risk and internal control; review of audit and control systems; management of financial risk; risk and control in information systems; financial pillar (F3): formulation of financial strategy; financing decisions; investment decisions and project control; test of professional competence.
