Designed to provide you with an in-depth understanding of cutting edge business theory and practice, the programme is ideal for those seeking to develop an executive career in industry, consultancy, banking or the public sector, it is also ideal for those interested in developing their own business. The optional units you select enable you to broaden your studies further or to specialise in a particular discipline. The project you undertake can be an enterprise project, business consultancy, or an empirical dissertation. Your project will be a combination of thorough research methods and will be a substantial piece of work of approximatley 12,000-15,000 words, which will address a business research issue of your choice. Through this project, you will be able to draw upon the different strands of learning throughout your studies. The project will allow you to demonstrate your mastery of management theory, techniques and practice.

Entry requirements

Either: A minimum of three years relevant work experience plus a good (2.2) degree in any subject from a recognised university or an equivalent international, academic or professional qualification. Or significant management experience and a substantial record of achievement. Candidates meeting this criteria may not have previously studied at university. Supporting references are required in all cases. If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence of your English language ability: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT- 90 or TOEFL paper-based test 577. The GMAT exam, which measures verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills, is not normally required. However, if we do not recognise your previous qualifications you may be required to take GMAT.

Course modules

Year 1: Managing human performance; managing customer value; managing for business excellence; financial analysis and management; contemporary issues in the international environment. Year 2: corporate business strategy in an international context; strategy implementation; organisation renewal and change. Optional units: applied economic theory; business psychology in action; sustainable leadership for the future; supply chain planning; international brand strategy; project management organisation and systems; emerging technologies for the enterprise; strategies for performance; strategic planning and alignment; clients and markets; motivating and managing teams; leadership and managing change. Year 3: The Executive MBA project (including research methods).

Assessment methods

We see the assessment as not only a device for determining your performance but also a vehicle to enhance learning. Consequently we use a range of assessment methods including assignments, time-constrained activities, exams and presentations.
