This programme is a comprehensive study into the current and emerging legal and compliance issues, and the scientific, health and psychosocial factors influencing 21st century Health and Safety. It introduces the student to the multitude of factors that are influential in workplace safety and health. The course has extensive practical emphasis, with regular site visits to a variety of industrial and commercial settings. The knowledge acquired is applied to risk assessment, management and compliance requirements, to maintaining workplace safety, and to building infrastructure and compliance systems. Demand for qualified individuals who can make a significant impact in the workplace environment on the health and safety of employees is high, with excellent starting salaries and progression.
Assignments include critical reviews of practice and regulation, presentations, practical experiments and data analysis reports, case studies and an independent dissertation.
