Research areas include: information access- information behaviour & analytics for the design of usable information based products & services, information management- evaluation of library and information services, user behaviour & knowledge management, communications & media- contexts of information use, educational & everyday social media networking. Currently we have two research groups: the information interactions research group (IIRG) undertakes research on the way in which people interact with information & system design, the contexts studied are as diverse as the technologies used in information interactions, the technology and audiences research group (TARG) undertakes research on the way in which media producers and audiences are responding to advances in digital technologies and social media.
