Public Relations and Digital Communications
This innovative online, part-time course is designed for PR professionals who want to progress and continue their professional development by adding an academic discipline to their practical experience, or those looking to move into PR. This course also provides a pathway onto our MSc Public Relations and Media Management. As well as an underpinning in PR theory and strategy, the course explores public relations campaign planning skills using the latest digital and social media techniques. Teaching is online, using interactive weekly webinars and can be undertaken at home or in the workplace, from anywhere in the world. You are supported by tutors and classmates whom you meet regularly online in a virtual classroom. Each session will be recorded, allowing you to access the material at a later stage. Integral Foundation Days, held at the Business School, introduce each unit and additional support days are provided to assist learning and assessment. Experienced professionals whose qualifications pre-date digital communications, or who are seeking to progress to a more strategic PR role will find this course equally valuable. It will also suit journalists, marketers or other professionals seeking a career change qualification. "One of the reasons I chose to study here was due to the links the Business School has with the main professional bodies in public relations. These links are so important because PR is a hands-on industry; you can't use purely theoretical knowledge to gain the skills and experience needed for a career in public relations, and therefore the combination on this course was brilliant."
