The School of Tourism, Events and Hospitality Management has a thriving research community in the subject areas of consumer studies/marketing, food and nutrition, hospitality management, tourism management, trading standards and environmental health. The Consumer Protection/Trading Standards Research Group is pursuing research into European Union safety legislation on the sale and supply of motor vehicles, the harmonisation of standards in the UK and Europe, the development of predictive weight determination, the efficacy of the legal liability of the producer for the quality of drinking water, and product safety recalls.
