Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (National award)
This programme provides professional development for those already working in the sector of special education needs co-ordination, enabling students to deepen their understanding of how to develop more inclusive practice within their own professional setting or country context
Either a good Honours degree (minimum 2nd class or equivalent) in teaching, or other equivalent professional qualification and relevant experience; with evidence of the ability to study successfully at Master's level.
PgCert modules: Behavioural, emotional and social difficulties: developing inclusive practice; introduction to the autism spectrum; specific learning difficulties (dyslexia): developing inclusive practice, understanding inclusive education. PgDip modules: Research for inclusive education. MA modules: Research project; dissertation.
Each unit is assessed through a written assignment equivalent to 5,000 words and this may include alternative formats, such as a presentation.
