Graduates of all disciplines are equipped with knowledge and skills required for a career as an information professional in the modern digital information environment of e-commerce, digital media, mobile technologies and big data. Your study will focus on the use of information as an asset in the management of organisations and in the design and delivery of information based systems and services. Placements opportunities are arranged in information units and other relevant centres of many different types, including large corporations, local government, the National Health Service and financial legal services.

Entry requirements

You will normally have a good UK Honours degree (or international or professional equivalent) in any discipline.

Course modules

Core units are in the areas of: Research and practice; information and knowledge management; web and search applications; management for information professionals; web languages; dissertation. You will also choose 2 units from core options and electives including: Digital rights; information futures; web programming.

Assessment methods

Assessment takes the form of coursework, including written pieces, practical exercises and oral presentations.
