International Tourism and Hospitality Management

This course aims to provide students with an advanced understanding of the global tourism and hospitality industries, producing professionals who can operate internationally in these sectors; it aims to offer a dynamic view of tourism and hospitality management, exploring current developments within these industries as well as problems relevant to a wide range of business situations. This course offers real-world assessments including working professionally in industry, on consultancy projects with clients and planning and running your own live project; it has been designed through close consultation with industry to offer a practical and managerial approach to equip you with professional skills and providing you with many opportunities to gain professional experience. Guest lectures and industry visits will enable you to develop a strong grasp of business culture, network and immerse yourself in these industries.

Entry requirements

This course is available to graduates holding at least a 2.2 UK Honours degree (or international equivalent) from any subject. Candidates with industry-relevant management experience may be considered.

Course modules

Core units include: Creativity, innovation and enterprise; developments in strategic management and marketing; dissertation; financial management; international tourism management; leadership and entrepreneurship; managing hospitality operations; methods of enquiry; responsible business; strategic live tourism or hospitality project management; tourism or hospitality industry live.

Assessment methods

Assessment includes written coursework, reports and live project work. The assessments are work orientated.
