International Hospitality Management

This postgraduate course aims to produce hospitality professionals who can operate globally in the hospitality industry. This is an industry that is varied and constantly growing worldwide with a shortage of qualified professionals. You will be given a range of opportunities to engage with the hospitality industry and you will examine the individual components of the hospitality industry and the interrelationships between them. You will graduate equipped with the skills to evaluate and analyse the international hospitality sector from a managerial, operational and organisational perspective. By completing a series of challenging, creative, real-world assessments including working professionally in industry, consultancy projects with clients and the requirement to plan and run your own live hospitality project, you will explore the issues and problems faced by hospitality professionals. You will be offered the chance to undertake a 36-48 week internship supported by our Placement Office, who have extensive contacts with industry and over 25 years of experience of helping students to find placements. The Placement Office will help with your CV, advise on interview techniques and continue to support you whilst you are away from the University. Please note, if you opt to take the strategic life project unit instead of a dissertation, you will not be able to undertake an internship/placement.
