Landscape Architecture

Based within Manchester School of Architecture, the Master of Landscape Architecture is a route to an internationally recognised qualification in a fast growing, global profession. The MLA combines an emphasis on individual practice and an exploratory, experimental approach, with a strong professional underpinning. It is both a conversion course for graduates of related subject areas and a final postgraduate year of education for landscape graduates. As a part of the Manchester School of Architecture, based within Manchester School of Art, students have access to an impressive range of workshop and studio facilities, based in an award winning building, and all just a few minutes' walk from the city centre. Entry requirements

You will normally have at least a 2nd Class undergraduate UK Honours degree in landscape architecture (or international equivalent). Alternatively, you may be admitted if you have proven experience in a relative field. Applicants will normally be required to provide a short portfolio of work (digital or hard copy) as part of the application process and may be invited to interview subject to qualifications and experience. Where applicants can demonstrate equivalent skills or experience in a specific area of the course, approved prior learning (APL) may be applied to reduce the number of units which they have to complete.

Year 1: landscape atelier 1a; landscape atelier 1b; landscape studies 1a; landscape studies 1b; landscape studies 2a; landscape studies 2b. Year 2: landscape atelier 2a; landscape atelier 2b; landscape atelier 2c; dissertation and exhibition; landscape profession and practice.
